Application

It is used as an emulsifier in cosmetic and skin care to help bind the small amounts of oil into large amounts of water. It improves rapid and complete spreading of creams and lotions.

It contains fatty acids that can activate gene controlling receptors (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors).
